H. Michael Williams was born May 16, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee. He is married to Juanita (Mayo) Williams, the father of three daughters and has five grandchildren.
Prior to joining the military, he attended Tennessee State University from 1970 – 1972. Instead of being drafted, he joined the military in October of 1972 and retired after 22 years of service in October 1994. He went on to graduate from Limestone College. He worked for the South Carolina Employment Security Commission from October 1994 until June 2010. During this time, he was promoted to the School to Work Program Coordinator, selected as the Agency’s Equal Opportunity Officer and certified by the South Carolina Human Affairs Commission. He also served as the Agency’s Special Event Coordinator and was later promoted to be the Director of Staff Development and Training.
In May of 2007, he accepted the call to Pastor the Sims Chapel Baptist Church in Whitmire, SC. His favorite scripture is; Psalm 51:10 “Create n me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me." His favorite saying; “If it is to be done, it must be done by me.”
